You are welcome to participate in this epidemiological project and to make your efforts to build up the picture of selected kidney and urological diseases all over the world. Registration and participation is free.

There are several ways listed below you can contribute to the study.

Perform abstract estimation

This is the main task of the second step of systematic review. After the first step we have almost 2,300 abstracts nesseccary to estimate according Abstract estimation form.

You can participate in this activity if you successfully pass the examination (and thus you are certified to perform abstract estimation according the common methodology for the Genitourinary Group).

Submit new data sources

The initial search was performed only in Medlie and EMBASE bibliographic databases, and due to this reason could exclude some potentially useful for the future analysis data sources. Obviously, the initial search exluded reports and research papers published only locally, as well as data of the official statistics for the country health authorities.

If you know such kind of data, please submit it through the special new data submission interface. First the literature source you will submit will be checked for avoiding to make a duplicate entry to the database, and if proposed by you data source will be unique, you will be requested to provide additional information, as well as you have to estimate submitted by you data source according Abstract estimation form.

Again, in order to participate in new data source submission, you have to successfully pass the examination (and thus you are certified to perform abstract estimation according the common methodology for the Genitourinary Group).

Check already selected abstracts for its usefulness for the further analysis

During the first step of systematic review more than 33,000 abstracts were screened for their usefulness for further analysis. As shown in the results of the first step, the sensitivity was very high for all participants, but there is some possibility that a few potentially useful abstracts were classified as not useful, and thus will not be considered in the future analysis.

If you know the published article with a great impact on the data on epidemiology of kidney and urinary diseases in your country or region, you could check whether it was included in the initial search, and whether it was correctly classified as potentially useful for the future analysis.

If you will explore that a paper with a great impact on epidemiology survey for GBD Study was wrongly classified as Not Useful, you could propose this data source for the inclusion in future analysis. In order to do this you need to be registered in the Genitourinary web-system. For proposing any changes to the data source status, please search it through the special new data submission interface, and then select from the drop-down menu the type of proposal you would like to do. After that you will be redirected to another page where you will need to explain your suggestion. If you explore that paper you would like to chek is not presented in the Genitourinary Group database, you could submit it (see section Submit new data sources).
